Here are some videos of my marina and boat. We are having a high tide and wind at same time on the Chesapeake. When we have a "Noreaster" wind from the eastern low pressure the water tends to "Pile Up" on the western shore. Of course my pier is floating a little although it is not a floating pier. The wind is gusting to 35 now on the bay and supposed to go to 50 later. I took these videos. Sorry could not upload videos but here are a couple of photos. Downtown Annapolis is flooded now.
Crazy!! Is that you "standing" on the dock in pic. #1? Wearing sea boots I hope!
Not me in photo but I had on hip waders. I did not stay long.
My marina has closed the piers until they make repairs to missing planks. I fear my pier in particular has more damage as it was floating off its pilings . have to wait and see.https://www.facebook.com/glenn.davis.7359/posts/10221948263157444?comment_id=10221949105578504¬if_id=1635537490103543¬if_t=feed_comment&ref=notif
here is a link to videos on facebook, hope it works.
The boat survived with no damage. The marina has replaced planks that floated away and the power is on.
Glad to hear you made it through unscathed.
Same situation in the Magothy River, water was 2 feet over the docks. Some damage to the Marina but the boat survived with no damage.
I did see some photos of boats that floated off dock lifts that damaged the boats, power boats.
