Both of my stanchion braces have pulled out of the deck. They were secured with an anchor type devise that expanded when screwed down. Any suggestions on resecuring?

Ron -

I'm installing midship lifeline gates on Breezer (shich i'm submitting as a Project) and have decided to backplate and rebed all my other stanchions at the same time. When you drill out the mounting holes and fill them with epoxy, do you recommend thickened or unthickened epoxy?
