Title: More on engine alignment
Post by: Jim Moore on July 18, 2003, 06:33:55 PM
I read with interest the post about the Vetus Flex Coupling. I looked the Vetus coupling up at the go2marine.com web site. Is this the same coupling that they refer to as the Bullflex flex coupling? If it is, then they offer 3 different types that are available for the one inch prop shaft. Which is the preferred type for this particular instal? Also, if this is not the coupling you spoke of, where can I get more info on this? Thanks for any info you can provide.

It is the Vetus Bullflex coupling.  The #2, I think.  I ordered mine directly from Vetus, www.vetus.com (http://www.vetus.com). I contacted them directly through their web site and they told me what model I needed and the appropriate fasteners for the transmission.

Based on the specifications on the Vetus website, I ordered the #1, so when I saw Ted's reference to the #2 I sent details of the engine power, rpm, etc to Vetus for their comment as to which model I should have ordered.  The reply was:
"Both models can be used, though we prefer with your info the #2.
