Title: Shaft packing
Post by: crieders on November 15, 2017, 04:30:56 AM
I have used in the past GTU Graphtex Ulta.  Its that time again. Any suggestions for something new or is this still the option of choice?

Cliff : Look in WiKi and you'll find that a number of us have gone to the Goretex (sp?) packing.
A number of write-ups.

From http://c34.org/wikiwp/?rdp_we_resource=http%3A%2F%2Fc34.org%2Fwiki%2Findex.php%3Ftitle%3DStuffing_box_packing (http://c34.org/wikiwp/?rdp_we_resource=http%3A%2F%2Fc34.org%2Fwiki%2Findex.php%3Ftitle%3DStuffing_box_packing), IIRC the Ultra X and Goretex are different materials.  Cliff, check the wiki, and visit Maine Sail's website (link included).  And no, as far as I know, nothing new has come up in the past few years.
