Guys, I'm sure that this is already discussed on here but darn if I can find it.
I'm in the process of upgrading my electrical system. I don't plan to upgrade the alternator this year but I would like to know what I might replace it with so that I can better plan this year's upgrades and not have to redo something in the future.
What's everyone's favorite high output alternator these days?
It's not an "everybody's favorite" kinda game, Mike.
More information is needed: internal vs. external regulation; required size based on your entire electrical system design including house bank size and energy budget; how you use your boat - a marina-hopper vs. an anchor out.
That said, start here, from the Electrical System 101 topic, a very good place to start if you can't find something electrical, as is the wiki electrical section which includes many articles about other skippers' choices
