Title: forward water tank
Post by: Marshall Tonner on October 18, 2016, 04:39:00 PM
We are planning to do the Great Loop next year and are curious about fresh water tankage. Has any one done the the  "Loop" and did you find it necessary to add water capacity? In our case adding a forward tank in the v berth. We may add a side trip to the Bahamas.

You will most likely be using marinas on your Great Loop trip.  Unless, that is, you plan on anchoring every night, but that seems improbable.  If so, marinas have H2O.  On our trip up the coast of California, Oregon & Washington, we anchored out four nights of the 21 moving days.  All marinas we used had water.  Why do you think this would be an issue?

Other than the Bahama's many of your days will be motoring.  You  will need fuel about every 3 days, most places with fuel also have water.  We did the ICW Virginia to Key West with a jerry can of water and diesel, used the diesel, didn't need the extra water.
