Title: Lake Lanier Georgia Catalina 34
Post by: Blackmar1 on February 22, 2015, 05:47:45 AM
Greetings,

I am new to this forum but have just sold our partnership Caliber 28 in Charleston SC and believe the next boat should be a 1990 or newer C34 that we will keep on Lake Lanier.  Does anyone on this forum have experience on Lanier they are willing to share?

Thanks
Burton

Burton,

There is a very active C34 fleet on Lake lanier, and I am sure they would be delighted to fill you in on their experiences.  Their Fleet Captain is Dorothy Toney and can be reached at toneydot@me.com.

Burton, hello and welcome.  I have been sailing onLake Lanier for the past 25 years with both a C34 and C350.  As Jack mentioned, we have a very active association but geared mainly to on & off the water social activities.  Barefoot Sailing http://www.barefootsailing.org/ and Southern Sailing http://www.southernsailing.org/ are also active with racing/regattas if you're interested.
Feel free to PM me and I'd be glad to talk with you.

I sailed our C-34 on Lanier and was a member in all the organizations mentioned by Ken. YOU HAVE TO BE A MEMBER of Fleet 13. An awesome group of people. We really miss them down in the warm, sunny, constant breeze hell that is my home - Florida.
