Title: Does anyone have a pre March 1988 XPB or M-35B engine?
Post by: KWKloeber on December 16, 2014, 07:24:07 AM
The coolant thermostat cap to exhaust manifold hose was changed from the pre- to post- March 1998 engines, and I am trying to find out the reason or why the pre-hose won't fit.

I know that the thermostat was changed from 38 mm to a 44 mm, but that in itself wouldn't necessitate a different hose since the inlet to the heat exchanger remained the same diameter.

Anyone out there have a pre- march 1998 engine and can shoot a few pics?

Cheers,
Ken

Ken : Call Joe Joyce or Russ Hagen (Asst.) at Westerbeke and ask them.
I'm sure they can tell you.

Ron,

I will try that directly, but the distributor already tried to get a straight answer out of the Wb folks and got a run around that "after 3/99, use the wire hose."

I will report back.

Thanks,
Ken
