Title: Anchor Light Replacement
Post by: mark_53 on May 23, 2014, 10:35:45 AM
My anchor light has been out since I purchased the boat so I would like to replace.  My son climbed the mast and took a photo of what was up there.  Can anyone identify the type of light this is?  I'd like to purchase a new light with the same hole pattern so when he climbs again, it will be an easy installation.

Whatever you get, make sure you go LED.  Chaces are good, you will never replace it.

Mark : That surface dome light can only be seen from afar!  What you need to do is to buy a anchor light that stands up so it can be seen.  Aqua Signal make one and you can get an LED bulb for it.

Just hope that Catalina left you some extra wire as the main anchor light wire is tied to the bolt that holds the mast cap in place (to hold the weight of the wire from the fixture).  You won't know until you remove the old crummy fixture!  Good luck

Let's not overlook the most important aspect of the photo . You have a son with a wicked sense of humor. Happy Birthday!
