Title: Anti vibration pads for companionway steps
Post by: RobertSchuldenfrei on August 06, 2013, 09:59:51 AM
Hi Everyone,

This is the second of my two small projects.  After Franco got our engine running so quietly and so free from vibration we began to notice some small details we had never before detected.  One of these was a sympathetic vibration of the companionway steps.  I got a small piece of fairly stiff foam from a craft store and applied two pads with DAP contact cement to the bottom of the companionway steps as shown below.  Quick, cheap, and easy!

Cheers,

Bob

Good call, Bob.  We had the same issue with the top section and used those 1/2" or so sized round felt pads one used to use underneath glass tops on office desks.   Felt can be your friend!  :clap

Yeah
I used some felt pads last year and it made a heap of difference.
The felt should last longer too.
