Title: SeaFurl 5 model 325 vs Hood 808
Post by: Paulus on September 26, 2011, 12:21:53 PM
Would appreciate feedback on these two furling systems from Hood. Also, if you went with the 808 did you use the 6" or 12" link to the deck plate?
Appreciate you input.
Thanks, Paul

Paul : I used the short (standard) link.
I have a standard rig with a sail luff 42' 71/2".  I also noted that I have 5/16" wire and a 5/8" pin

I don't like the "closed" drum of the 325.  I wanted the open drum so I can see how the furling line is coiling in.  Also if the line ever "piles up on top of each other" it wouldn't jam up inside the closed drum.

A few thoughts

Thanks Ron for your thoughts.  I also have the standard rig.
