Post by: Paulus on September 17, 2011, 03:16:39 PM
I have decided to replacing my 915LD.  What did you replace it with and any changes to the forestay?
Appreciate your feedback.

Paul : I replaced all of my rigging "pin to pin" a few years back.

I also changed the furler to a Hood 808 SL furler.  It went on without a hitch

I'd recommend that you at least change out that head stay at the same time.  You can always inspect the other stays, but that head stay is always covered up!!  A thought

I agree w/ Ron - at least change the headstay while you're at it.  Cheap insurance...  The guy who bought my boat put a Harken furler on it and he was very happy with it.  I sailed it a few times and it worked well.

Paul : Putting it another way:

Replace the head stay before you cover it back up for another 23 years !!!!!  A thought

I took off my 915 furling system and ordered the SeaFurl 5-325.  Hood has a very attractive trade in policy and very friendly salesperson.
Thanks for all the input.
