Title: Exhaust Riser Photo and measurement
Post by: mel low on December 15, 2010, 09:51:44 PM
I have 86 #167 The PO has reworked the exhaust riser out of black iron with a reducer fitting at the top of the last 90 that I thought was a reasonable fix until I read the postings where others had worried that saltwater may make it back to the engine when starting.

I want to take this to our local shop to have a stainless steel one made. This shop made one for my 30 several year ago. They can get most of the needed measurements from my old one but I need to be able to show them where the 5/8 nipple come in. Not sure how far down and what direction to face it. Looking for pictures and/or drawings.

Where best to get new wrap for the covering?

PS have read the past posting and have ordered the gasket and longer HUMP hose as recommended.

Thanks Ken that is exactly what I needed. I took it and my old riser down to fabrication shop at lunch today.
