We are looking for a cockpit grate for our 1986 Catalina 34, anyone have suggestions? We live in Ontario Canada.
namlac, look in the projects page, 6/1/03, dan harrington has complete instructions for making the cockpit grates out of mahagony. it's on my to do list, just haven't got there yet. good luck...jeff
Take a look at the Buy / Sell section of the website, I am selling my cockpit grates. Feel free to email me at plautzjm@hotmail.com if you are intrested. I can tell you that the shipping may be the most difficult part, but it is doable. Here is the link http://c34.org/bbs/index.php/topic,3522.0.html , if you want I am willing to sand and refinish with a diffrent type of Cetol finish. Let me know.
This another option: a full teak cover installed in the Netherlands by my Dutch Catalina dealer.

I got the same set when my wife's cousin saw them in an antique shop in Conn.
I refinished them and they look great
My 1987 that I purchased out of Sandusky last year has identical grates. I refinished them and used Cetol. After a fair amount of research, I determined that was probably the best finish to hold up year after year with the water exposure. So far, so good.
