Title: Tension Gauges
Post by: saildestiny1 on June 20, 2001, 06:23:14 PM
The shrouds are 1/4 and 5/16 wire.  What gauge can be used?  The Loos Model B only goes to 9/32.  Does anybody use this one and "FUDGE" the number to get close?  There is only a 1/32 difference.  The other option is to buy the very expensive Pro Model 3 for about $130.  I haven't owned her very long and would like to get the mast correct.  I can see a bend at the top to port.

I use the Loos Model PT-3 on Trident and feel it is a good investment. An alternative might be to borrow one.

Title: OK, but how tight are you making them?

Any suggestions on tension?  I have a seasoned '87, the mast is straight, just trying to eek more speed out.

I have a chart that I use for tuning Trident. A Loos gauge is used. If anyone would like a copy,  please e-mail me.

I would like to get a copy of the chart used to tune the rigging but cannot email Ken Morton using the profile address.  Does any one have the chart or know the new email address for K Morton?
