Title: Summer Sailstice
Post by: Ken Juul on June 14, 2006, 06:06:42 AM
The Summer Sailstice is a day of celebration for all sailors.  It is an annual event held near the Summer Solstice.  This year June17th is the date.  Sign up for prizes and to add your name to the list of sailors celebrating.  Sponsor or join an event near you.  Have a great weekend :clap

PS.  Ron, Little Bay off Fleets Bay will be packed with several boats from our yacht club as well as the normal weekend crowd.  We are planning a no host beach party for late afternoon.  If you are in the area you are welcome to join us.

We did, too, 13+ nm out the Golden Gate Bridge to the "Lightbucket" in 8 ft. seas at 8 seconds in 25 kt. winds with gusts to you-name-it.

A lovely ride!

Just for giggles, what did the rest of you do?    :->

Great Weekend!  Nice breeze both days.  Had about 8 boats from the YC and 4 or 5 others anchored around us.  Hor'dourves, burgers, games on the beach followed by the limbo  and desert around the bonfire after sunset.   Local merchants really did it right by donating dinners, boat bags, hats, etc to the prize chest.
