Title: Eyebrow repair
Post by: dpenz on October 01, 2001, 02:47:46 PM
I removed the teak "eyebrow" trim strips for refinishing and now they are ready to go back on.  Either the factory or the previous owner had bedded the strips in some type of sealant.  Are the screws sufficient to fasten the strips, or should I use a sealant, and, if so, what type of sealant is recommended?

David:
I would use a sealant like Boatlife, etc.  If you don't seal them all kinds of dirt, salt, etc. gets trapped between them and the hull.  Also, if your foot slips on the cabin top and hits the eye-brow or someone steps on the brow between screws it may well break the eye-brow..

These things I know to be true..
