Title: Red Wine Stains
Post by: Stu Jackson on June 13, 2005, 03:05:22 PM
The Wall Street Journal reports that red wine stains can be eliminated by using white wine and salt.

What a great reason to keep a fully stocked wine cellar on board.

By golly, I knew there was a reason for keeping a well supplied wine cellar aboard.  Now I have evidence to show the first mate. Keep these valuable sailing ideas coming. :clap

Stu, its nice to know what takes red wine off our boats cushions and the carpet at home and where ever. Now, I'm going to take your idea a step further. CLUB SODA. Yes it works like a champ believe me. Would you believe we just had our carpets cleaned one wk. ago last Sat. and low and behold over went the red wine last night. Thank goodness the glass was almost empty. Out come the CLUB SODA and out went the wine. Now no one has any excuses do they? Ron S.

The best idea is to drink red wine in someone else's cockpit/boat!!

If you keep white wine on board too long you'll have your vinegar and then you'll be known as a "sour puss"!!

I wonder if white wine will nullify a red wine hangover---hmmmmm?
We've also had good luck with club soda  Thanks for the tip.
