It sounds like there might be some interest in getting a C34 Fleet started in the Anacortes area. The Officers of the C34IA are happy to help. I can send you a packet of information and instructions that was designed to help make the start up process quick and easy. We also have $300 available to help offset startup costs. Stu Jackson can provide you with a list of all C34IA members in your area. All you really need to do is arrange a meeting and elect Fleet Officers.

Hi Bill,
I am interested in getting a group together in the San Juan area. Our boat is in Skyline at Anacortes and it is only recently that I began to notice other C34's in the area. I have thought about dropping in on CAPS cruses but weekends seem to short to bring the boat south to the events. Time is always the issue isn't it. It would be great to be able to get together with some boats in our area.
Lets see if any of the others are interested.

I've also considered dropping in on the CAPS get togethers, but same as Jack, they're usually too far south for me. I like the idea of setting up some get togethers, but I'm also not much interested in formal clubs with laws, dues, meetings and all that stuff. If one were established, I might join and particpate in the fun though. As you can see, I'm firmly on the fence.

I'm not too much on the formal meeting stuff either. When we had a Venture 22 many years ago we belonged to a club that grew from a few to a fairly large crowd. What we liked about it was that we had a cruse every month, went someplace fun, actually used our boats, and had good fun socializing at the anchorages. One other plus was seeing each others boats, and learning things from the other members. (We really learned from each others mistakes in those days. I flew the "boner" burge more than my share of the time.) And there was generally someone around if one needed assistance. All in all, pretty enjoyable. We should get the four of us together when captran drops his boat back in the water to help him celebrate, and see how it goes.
