Title: Aquapro dingy/tender
Post by: dchurch on June 22, 2004, 03:33:00 PM
I am looking for a new dingy to replace a very tired Avon.  I would prefer the aluminum hull RIB to hang from the davits.  They are lightweight and tough, we tend to run up on beaches (like Marines).  Does anyone have experience with Aquapro?  Any other recommendations?

Thanks

We have had an Aquapro 10.5 foot rib for 4 years and love it.  It has taken many beachings on rocks with no problems and planes easily with a 10 horse 2 cycle Tohatsu - this with two over 200 lb adults in the boat.  Speed is about 21 knots with one person and 17 knots with two people.  It rows OK but you wouldn't want to go far.

We keep it on the foredeck and hoist it on and off with the spinnaker halyard.
