Title: Lubrication for Jib Track
Post by: DavidComando on May 24, 2004, 11:38:08 AM
Well on a calm, sunny day, which has been very difficult to find here lately, I hoisted the jib and put on the mainsail. The main went on easy enough, though the track for the foot needed alittle lubrication to allow the sail to slide aft. The jib was a different story. I tried the starboard track, got it up half way, with all my weight on the halyard it would barely budge. It came down easily enough. I tried the port track and had the same difficulty. Is there a lubrication that can be slid through the tracks before hoisting the jib? I was able to hoist it this time, I would like to make it easier for the next.

Ron: Thanks for the info on the track lube. I'll pick some up the next time I go to West.
