Oy!!! That's moderately scary.  However, it appears you caught it in time to avoid any major damage (stern tube replacement comes to mind).  Keep us posted on the replacement of the strut and motor mounts.  I have motor mounts on my short list.

Ben...

Congrats on being the first "non Alex" picture poster!  I like that shot.  It kinda looks like some sort of mystery movie scene.  Thanks for posting.

Who's next?

Gonna try again here now that it is Spring in the North.  This thread is meant for ALL to post great sailing photos.  I went sailing with a good friend of mine (each on our own boats) and he managed to catch some great shots of Belafonte under sail!!

Come on and post what you got!

Thanks Ken.  The lighting upgrades, even in my 90s boat, REALLY improve the user experience!!

Ken,

That is the CLEANEST C-30 I have EVER seen!!! And a 70's boat to boot!?!  Snaps to Dutton for a fantastic boat!!

PS... if he did a write up on his overhead lights, I'd love to read about the install.

I would use PexA (uponor) to do the boat's domestic plumbing.  I would suggest angle stops/shut offs at all the fixtures as if there is a problem with a fixture it can be isolated while still allowing supply to the others.  I have a plan to put a shut off and drains for the cockpit shower as my boat lives in a non winterizing climate but we do get occasional low temps that I'd prefer to drain that circuit when it isn't summer time.

The shower drain is under the cabin sole and not easily reached without an access port drilled into the floor pan under the teak and holy insert.

I can second the above on my 1991 mk1.5. I doubt they would have changed that detail from one to the other.

Logo Freak just did this during his new fuel tank job.  He used spray foam to fill it, shaved it flat and ran a few layers of glass over it.  I REALLY wish I had when I rebuilt my water tank shelf.  It is a challenging spot to get to for cleaning.

It might be regional.  I bought my boat off lake of the Ozarks and it was originally delivered to Texas, and it had the shaft and prop all covered in bottom paint.  Here in the PNW, I haven't seen that before.  I sanded it all off and left it bare when I launched it.  My diver only comes once every 6 months, but then that has a lot to do with our colder water.

Glad to hear you got it sorted out!

Thanks so much for all the work to sort it out Ken.  I very much appreciate it.

Thanks Ken... I just found the following post (See attached screen shot) and came here to post it as another data point.  Thanks for the continued assistance.  I will stand by for further updates.

The only other suggestion I have to Noah's would be to take the drop leaf galley counter extension off and have the formica color matched at a good paint shop (not a big box store).  That will be the same formica and is at least relatively easy to remove from the boat.

Ken,

Just started flipping through the Kabota parts manual you just uploaded and am a bit confused as the front cover shown in the parts manual looks like that from the M35B (I think... see attached photo).  Thoughts?

***edit***

I believe I may have sorted out my own confusion, but would love to have your confirmation Ken. It appears the m35 and m35B use the same Kabota 1305 block, thus the parts manual for the "kabota cousin" for the m35 and m35B will be the same.  The difference in the B designation is from the marinization from Universal correct?

Also, it appears that the valve covers are not the same between the universal and the Kubota (although that is me comparing photos).  Have you noticed that in your experience Ken?
