Title: FX Sails
Post by: fatamorgana on August 07, 2017, 07:35:06 PM
I was looking at FX Sails for my boat, and wondering what others with FX Sails think of them?  Are you happy with them, would you buy them again?  Do they hold up OK?

I've seen other topics about FX sails shortly after buying them, I'm curious about longer periods of time with the sails.

They appear to be using the exact same dacron (weight and source) that Quantum quoted me, which made me feel good that it wasn't some cheap sail cloth.

Thanks.

I have both a main and a 130% genoa made by FX and I very satisfied by both sails. The quality (fit and finish) is better than my UK 140% genoa. Both sails are considerably flatter than the OE sails. I got Dacron UV protection on the genny  that makes it stand up and keep its shape in very light airs. I chose the loose fitted main. For very little extra, FX built in the fittings required to keep my Dutchman system on the main. Both sails working beautifully after three years of considerable use.

Please let me know if you have other questions.
