Would Formica, Laminex or similar product be available with colour already applied.
I am sure there is a product available in the same thickness as would be required for those sliding doors.

I 2nd Footloose,
Ours is a small plastic bin bungeed to the hot water access door.
Seems to work well for us, then into a beer or wine box in aft cabin till we find a bin ashore.

cheers

You can see our hatch in the YouTube link
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-DmVP18aeSk
If you pause at 3 or 43 seconds, you can see it opens the opposite side to m624ma's hatch.
We leave it open with the handle catching on the teak rail 24/7 under the dodger.
I presume it was an original factory item on our '92.

Set2
Is this what you intend to do?

Ours are not plastic but white melamine faced ply. The black see through plastic are above the dinette and settee.

Except for the 4 on the centre line. (3 in saloon for bilge access and small one in v-berth for depth and speed logs)

Hi Greg

Ours is oversize diameter and feel it is not required to be. You need the blocks to lessen and distribute the load on the boom. We had thoughts of a double ended mainsheet with another block in the cockpit to allow a soloing control whilst at the helm.
I'd go by the original setup as stated in the manual.

I'd be using double sided sticky.  :thumb:

To me they look like a cast plastic on a backing plate/colour unlike our originals without the backing plate/colour.

Looking at your picture, the Sherwood is way different to my Johnson raw water pump. We have a plate on the face with a gasket behind that I feel doesn't need a sealant as well. Each time I have removed the plate, the gasket is stuck to both faces and needs to be replaced.
Yours seems to have only 3 bolts holding the body (I see only 2, and from the rear) together so may need extra help sealing them together.
That gasket also look quite thick so should seal well under pressure. I presume the whole pump to motor gasket is the same so again should seal well under the pressure of those connecting bolts as well.
Going back to the picture, Yes the connecting body looks to be corroding on the external skin, but a good clean up/sand blast/acid wash I think would clean it up then seal and would be good to go for more years to come. It does look like rust. The main body looks like cast brass or bronze. The corroded connecting body looks like cast iron, hence the rusting. I do feel it is only the face though.
Others will add their comments soon.
As Stu says ... your boat your choice
Good luck

Steve
The way I read your question is your "starting/engine" battery is there for you to start your engine when you have run down your house bank. The way you described yours,I feel ours is wired the same. I often forget to turn off the engine battery switch (ours in in the head under the sink inside the door) and with our old original fridge/freezer running, it does drag down the two house batteries overnight. If I do forget to turn off the engine battery they don't run down as fast so instead of running on our 2x95ah house batteries it is running on 3 x 95ah batteries. As soon as these batteries start to fail, I will be updating the ah size for all 3. Even though we have a couple of solar panels they would only trickle charge the batteries so have to run the engine for a couple of hour per day to keep on top of them. I believe ours is set up that each of the house batteries is battery 1 and 2 and both with the engine battery only in line if the separate isolation switch is in the ON position.
Only late afternoon here so others will add their input as they come on line as their day begins
cheers and good luck with it

It will come down to the thread that they use to sew with ... you need a "Profilen" or "Tenara" thread that is a HDPE thread. Lesser quality will degrade in the sun. These threads here have a 15year warranty.

QuotePlus your marina is less likely to notice the extra length and add it to your bill...
Gee ... I hope our marina doesn't realise that our 34 isn't really a 34 as it is. At $20.00 a ft/mth I hope they don't.
