When faced with the task of needing a slightly larger transducer I used a tapered wood plug un the original opening.  Put the hole saw pilot bit in the exact center and you're in business.

Main Message Board / Cell Service in the Abacos
April 15, 2023, 01:46:08 AM
We're meeting friends in Marsh Harbor Abacos and will only be there for a week.  I have prepaid Verizon service and only anticipate needing some cellular data to check email when away from wifi.  Any suggestions for an inexpensive provider?

Here's a couple of systems that don't require cutting a hole in the tank(s).  They use a foil tape applied to the outside of the tank.

I've had the New Providence Profile on my C350 since 2005 and it has worked well.

Does anyone know the model number of the K&N air filter that is used on M35B engines?  Thanks.

After reading this post I decided to get a quote from Skisafe.  It was about $75 more than my current coverage with Safeco.  Robert, I had a lightning strike about 6 yrs ago and Nationwise was unbelievably generous with their settlement.

Advance Auto Parts has a tool loaner program.  They charge your credit card when you pick up the tool and issue a refund when its returned.

They have a 0-150 ft/lbs torque wrench - https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/powerbuilt-tools-kit-68-1-2-drive-needle-torque-wrench-kit-944050/9150050-P?searchTerm=9150050%20OR%209150000

Here's a couple of pictures of the manifold.  He noticed the coolant level wasn't moving in the reservoir and found this when the elbow was removed.

I have a friend with a C350 and the M35B engine.  He's looking to replace the exhaust manifold but was rightfully taken back by the prices for a factory replacement.  I suggested looking at Kubota as another possibility.
His research showed "the M35B engine block is a Kubota model V1305-E which they use in their "bobcats". The only exhaust manifold I can find from them is what I would call a "straight pipe" manifold that you would typically see on a car engine."
Is that correct or is he looking in the wrong place?
Thanks.

Another vote for MDO.  I'm able to buy it from a sign company and the price is pretty reasonable.

Always have someone standing on the bow during dangerous conditions !  Was it lucky or good?

Sometimes it takes more than just speed or rudder...Nerve perhaps?

Thanks for the info and the link Jim.  My lack of trust with the instrument stemmed from test the same cell 3 times and getting a different reading each time.  It doesn't seem like there's a lot of specialized technique involved.  Place tube in cell, squeeze bulb to pull electrolyte in - keep hydrometer vertical and read.

Jim, what brand hydrometer did you buy?  The only one I could find was cheap and I never could get the same reading twice when checking a cell.

QuoteOccasionally equalize them. How often is in dispute, (one month to once a year) depending on who/what you read.

I equalize when the specific gravity (hydrometer) readings vary between cells.  And every spring.  Years ago I bought a good hydrometer, glass with the little floating gage, then made up a good case from plumbing pvc parts.  I think the specific gravity readings tell a lot about the health of the battery.  Fits well in the space outboard of the water heater, along with distilled water and filler.  For a filler I use a plastic squeeze bottle that's kept in a plastic zipbag to keep clean.

I have the same battery filler and love it.  Just place the spout in the battery opening, push down  and hold until it stops gurgling and the cell is perfectly filled.

I top mine off with distilled water on a regular basis. I use a handheld automatic battery filler can that I bought at NAPA. An example PN I found online is BK 7001161.
