Deck seam over hatch

On my 34, on the starboard side, toward the bow, the corner of the deck seam above the entry-way hatch is 1/8th to 1/4 inch lower than the deck, despite several different types of caulk I've used.  Is this a problem? Any recommendations?

My boat is hull #1505 (model year 2000) and there is a portion of the deck that runs from the entry-way to forward of the traveler, which, forward of the traveler, covers the sliding entry-way hatch. It's attached with several screws, appears to be removable, and there is a caulked seam that surrounds it where it aligns and meets with the rest of the deck. In my case, forward of the traveler, on the starboard side, next to that caulked seam, there is a section about 1-foot long that is about 1/8th - 1/4 inch below the "permanent" deck next to it, as if that section of this removable piece has settled. If this is more clear, any advice about this would be greatly appreciated--is it a problem and if so how to repair it?
