bypassing hot water heater??

By bypassing my water heater today with a temporary 3/8" fuel hose, I was able to eliminate my overheating problem. The hose coming off both the fresh water circulatory pump and the thermostat base is 3/8".  Where do I find this 3/8" 'radiator' hose to complete the loop.

3/8" heater hose - try NAPA, or autozone -- my auto parts carries 3/8" 'behind the counter'
