25xp engine.
How much ATF fluid goes in our transmission.
I just drain my fluid and would like to refill with the right amount and compare it to the amount that came out.

Please

Edit:  Why didn't you check the level on the dipstick first, you ask?   Because I'm a big Dummy.

Please look at the sticky "101 Topics."

In there is a link to "Transmissions 101" that has pictures of not only how to do it, which you've already done, but how to measure and refill.  It includes pictures I took of what I removed and how I figured how to know how much to put back in, for starters.

Then you use the dipstick and roll it on a paper towel to check the level.

There's also the Hurth manual in the Tech wiki.

Not so hard.

Good luck.

Caio : To answer your question
QuoteHow much fluid goes into the transmission?

Answer : Unscrew the dipstick, clean it OFF, reinsert dip stick (not rescrewing it back IN ) and have fluid level to mark on dipstick.

Caio : If you measure the amount of fluid you remove, then it's easy to add that same amount of new fluid and be "right on"!!

The Huth manual tells me to put in .4 liters, or 400 milliliters. A standard water bottle is 500 ml, so its not quit a bottle full.

I forgot to look at the dipstick before I drained it.

I'm guessing that because the trans sits at an angle toward the dipstick it reads a higher level than actual.

I'll ask..

Is there any harm in the level being just above the dipstick marking?  I checked my Tx fluid level and it was barely at the lower tip of the dipstick (resting on the thread) and when I put in fluid in several small amounts using a syringe. The final input put the level about 1/4" above the dip stick mark.

Should I suck it back out?

Paulo : A bit over full is OK.  Just don't be a bit low!!

Pul, I agree with Ron.  I did just what you did last time, been running fine for the past 100 hours, time to change it again soon.
