When I use the heater in the AC mode it recently started activating the overflow valve.
It only takes about 15 minutes under AC for this to happen. I've fliped the little toggle lever a few times to see if it was just loaded with debris or calcium -- no luck. This does not seem to occur when under engine power.
Can the over temp/pressure valve be easlily replaced?

thanks

The above is a site for Seaward.  I didn't see a thermostat listed, but that's what you need.  I had an Raritan that would SCRAM on shorepower and left us a nice, clean bilge but used up the fresh water.  The pressure relief valve is doing it's job OK.  The thermostat is not shutting off the electric heater element so that it just keeps getting hotter and hotter.

Whether or not the thermostat is working, or is even there, I don't know.

What I know for sure is that within 15 minutes all the water in the heater gets hotter than blazes on shorepower, so what I do is turn it (the hot watr heater breaker) off after 15 minutes or so.  If there's going to be continued use, I'll flip it back on for a while.

Never had a problem with the relief valve.
