Folks,
I am getting salt water on the floor of my head.

1) it does not happen all the time, never when I motor, just when sailing.
2) it seems like it is not leaking, then someone goes downstairs and there is water on the floor.
3) I can not find where the water is coming from.

Any thoughts or hints would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Brad

Most likely from the plumbing with the toilet.
1) Try closing the seacock for the water intake on the toilet when sailing, or
2) While someone else is at the helm, go below and watch to see where the water is coming from.

Has pictures of both old and new check valves.

Shouldn't be salt water, though, unless your pump is backflowing.

I went out yesterday bone dry......
I will check out the sump-pump and check
Valve..  I am not sure where the sump-pump pumps to.
Bilge or direct overboard.

check the propshaft stuffing box.  If it is leaking water will pool under the trans.  When you heel, it runs through the head area to the bilge.

Brad, this is a perfect time to check your manual.  The sump pump drains overboard through one of the three valves under the head sink.  The head floor/shower drain goes to the sump, by hose to the check valve, by hose to the pump, by hose to the thru hull.

Guys : Salt water on the head floor can only come from the salt water hose leading and connected to the bottom of the head pump.  OR, the salt water then goes thru another hose to the back of the head bowl. Then the salt water is flushed out thur the bottom of the bowl and into the head exhaust line to the where ever out side the head compartment.

Do you have a vented loop between the pump and bowl, or just the while hose in the back of the head between the two?
