Hey all:
I did a search but didn't see any info on my question (my search skills are limited)
Does anyone have the recipe (color combination) to match the Catalina gel color?
I would like to keep it somewhere just in case as I repair any dings.

Any help is appreciated

Are you asking about the white exterior or the tan/cream interior? Because you'll have to mix your own to match the color of the exterior due to fading over time. There is a post about the interior gelcoat, which, as I remember, is only available in an industrial size and cost.

Steve : You can get gelcoat from Catalina parts. They sell it in quart cans, white, camel (tan) and gray.

Has anyone asked Catalina Direct 800-959-7245 if they have gelcoat??

I wrote a gelcoat Mainsheet tech note article on another company in Seattle Wash., but don't have that number handy.

Here is the company that I think makes the Catalina gelcoat....

Guys : Roc is correct on the company.

Spectrum did make touchup kits at one time, but now you still might be able to get small cans (smaller than a quart) of the Catalina colors and the additive to make a gelcoat paste.  A thought

This is the text I found from a Google search for Spectrum, included the information I added at the end when I called them looking for a small quantity of the camel:

OK, just in case anyone else needs the same information:

Below is the information for the interior liner color used back in 1990 to get it from www.spectrumcolor.com.  The Foredeck, www.catalinadirect.com might also stock it as well as they keep many of our parts in stock as a dealer.

Years Used      Color Name      Spectrum Part Number    Coating Part Number
1989-1994       CAMEL            3505                            954-NC-030

Rick : I came across an old article I wrote for the Mainsheet tech notes regarding C34 gelcoat.

I called the old telephone # from a gelcoat patch kit I got at West Marine and found they were still in business. The company was SPECTRUM in Auburn WA.  Their telephone # was (800)754-5516.

What I liked about the company was that they had the thickener called "Cabosil" so you can turn the runny gelcoat into a paste - making it easier to work with.  They still had Catalina white, gray & camel.

I similarly have a small interior repair job so I called Spectrum.  They only sell the camel in one gallon quantities, cost is $285.50.  Catalina Direct does not carry in it a smaller quantity either.  The Catalina Direct salesperson told me that it is a custom order from Spectrum and that is their minimum order size.  Catalina Direct does sell a tinting kit for the Spectrum gel coat paste that may work for cosmetic jobs.
