This is from the latest issue of EAA Sport Aviation:
"Pilots who are active in type clubs have a better safety record...  The NTSB has done...comprehensive general aviation safety studies...and found that aircraft type clubs are one of several keys to safety...  What makes type club pilots safer... is that they learn from each other.   Type clubs share important maintenance information, but also explore and explain any unique flying qualities the type of airplane involved may have..."

Substitute "sailors" for "pilots" and "sailboat" for "airplane" and you you can make a case for another great benefit from our association.   :clap :clap :clap
