Recently I removed the small drive actuator from my wheel while doing some cleaning.  I inspected the unit and then simply reinstalled it as I had found it.  This weekend while sailing I went to engage my Auto Pilot and I could hear the small motor in the actuator turning but not engaging the wheel.  :cry4`
This is the first I have dealt with this unit and the owners manual is not really clear.  Is there anyone els who has run across a similar problem and if so, what are some things I should be checking.

The sail, the play of its pulse so like our own lives: so thin and yet so full of life, so noiseless when it labors hardest, so noisy and impatient when least effective.

Check that the clutch is really engaging.  There is a steel roll pin that secures the handle to the shaft, they quite often shear off.  New pins are available through RM or drill out and use a stainless bolt & nut.

Or a penny nail with a bit of sealant on each end. My nail has lasted 8 years without rusting.
