I did a search, but perhaps I'm not phrasing it correctly.

Anyone know of an option to the SS replacements offered by Catalina Direct?

$64 is not terrible; just wondering about options?  My old plastic levers have really served their time.

Thanks,

Steve

Steve, those throttle handles are on the Critical Upgrades topic.

You should replace them.

There are no alternatives (unless you make your own).

FWIW, the price has actually come DOWN.  I paid $95 each for mine 12 years ago.

They last a long time. :D :D  Go for it.

Stu, you crack me up.  "They last a long time"... that's pricelesss!

Guess I'll order those babies while our Canadian Dollar is showing it's true value  :D

Thanks.

Edson Marine has them for the same price.

Jamestown Distributers has them for $60  http://www.jamestowndistributors.com/userportal/show_product.do?pid=51340&familyName=Edson+Stainless+Engine+Control+Handles

Might also want to check ebay/craigslist

Craig is correct.  In "ye olden daze" before they came out with the
SS levers, the ONLY cure to a broken plastic handle was????

Steve : The only lever that you really need to replace is the shifter.

That is the lever that when it breaks causes panic to set in.  There are stories (Practical Sailor) about an individual backing out of his slip into a narrow fairway and when he went to shift into FWD had the handle break off!  He was the guy that yelled for a vice grips

Aw shucks, do both, 'cuz the old plastic throttle shifter will look really cheesy next to the new shift lever!  8)

Guys : By all means make Will Kean and his brother richer by getting a matching throttle lever - they are not sold cheaper in pairs!
