trying to figure out before i call Raynarine.  All of a sudden I'm getting a low battery warning and beeping.  Battery's seem to be fine.  I don't hear the start-up sound also.

If the batteries are OK, check the voltage at the connectors/connections to the AP.  99% of all electrical issues are connections.  The other 1% are wiring size too small.

The low battery warning is unfortunately a sign that the control head is toast. Raymarine has no spares. You need a new unit.
