Last weekend I went out in 15-22 knots of wind and when I got back my genoa was pretty thrashed.  The cover part is torn in 7-10 spots... and I noticed some of the stitching is failing.  The sail is 10 years old and doesn't appear to have sunbrella for protection (if it does it's white which I read doesn't hold up well)

I'm going to go down and pull the genoa off and find out what it would cost to repair it, but I'm leaning towards replacing it.

The boat came with another headsail... I think it's from a 33 Pearson.  It's labeled "Light No 1" and it's made by North Sails.  It's NorLam.

So how suitable is this for my cat34?

A light No.1 is probably a 150. It will fit on your boat but would be smaller than a 150 made for your boat. How small will depend on if it is from a Pearson 33 or a 33-2.

The standard Catalina 34 has the following dimensions:
I = 44.0'
J = 13.57'
P = 38.5'
E = 12.0'

The Person 33:
I = 40.4'
J = 12.7'
P = 35'
E = 13.5'

The Pearson 33-2:
I = 43.54'
J = 12.92'
P = 37.75'
E = 12.12'
