Source for replacement DC panel

I'm considering replacing the AC/DC panel on our 91.  The AC lights flicker green and the breakers aren't reliable (ie: sometimes you have to turn things off and on multiple times to get them to work)

I already scoured the site for posts about it.  I don't think going with Blue Sea panels would save me any money.  I found this one on catalina direct for $522
http://www.catalinadirect.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&product_ID=1815&ParentCat=49

My question is, has anybody been able to source one for less?  Is it worth calling Seaward?

I'm in California.

Yes, Seaward is a great place to START. As is Catalina Yachts.

Noworries,

Take the advice of Lance.

Call Denis at Seaward 562-699-7997 X210 he is in the Panel Department. I upgraded this past winter and elected to go
with  the model PB4651. This model had addditional circuits and I was able to choose what I wanted the labels to be. Additionally they pop out and can be changed. They off a great discount for Catalina owners, and without a question going to the source is the best way to save big buck$$ (my experience).

To help with my decision Dennis sent me a PFD with threee different electrical panels, as is often said on this site "Your Boat, Your Choice"

Denis can also help you to decide if it may be simpler to just replace some of the switches.

Thanks for the info.  I talked to Dennis yesterday.  I'm going to get one similar to the picture on catalinadirect for $477, so that's $45 cheaper... better then a poke in the eye with a sharp stick!

I checked it out... along with the Blue Sea setups... but it didn't look like I would save much (if anything) going that route.  I'd rather have an OEM look and save some time not having to fab a panel, etc.

No : What you are finding out - is that there are other products out there sometimes of better quality/more functions, but it's the newer OEM items that will fit in the same hole

A thought

If they'd only put the 1-2-B switch on the right side of the panel...

Because a straight swap of our 1986 panel is not possible without extending the #4 wiring to the batteries and the the starter.  Darn... :D
