Windlass Maxwell 500

I bought a C34 1997 and there is a maxwell 500 but is it just for the rope. I bought a 100 feet of chain and i want to change the piece ( i don't know the name in english) for working with my chain. Is it possible? Thank you.

Congratulations on your new boat.  I don't know if I am qualified to answer since I have only had my C34 for about 5 weeks.  I too have a Maxwell 500 and the previous owner added a chain gypsy (I think that is the term you are looking for) to the previous rope only windlass.  So it is possible but I don't know the details of how to do it.  There is a very knowledgeable and helpful group here so I'm sure you will get better details in answer to your question.  An email to Maxwell may help.  Also, no doubt Stu will provide you with guidance on how to search the site to find the info you are looking for.
