pelican hooks

Has anyone had the experience of the pin from the lifeline
pelican hook jumping into the ocean?   
You know when the spring clip gets distorted and you pull to hard on it, it comes
out and nothing is left to retain the pin and spring.

There is no brand name on my hooks and where do I find a correct
size replacement pin and spring?  I have found some but a
different diameter.

I always thought they were 'Johnson' brand. Had the same thing happen, but in the yard. Put it back to together and used a stainless steel key ring for the pull. Has some meat on it and so far, no more problems.
