The aft wooden engine enclosure (the one in the rear cabin) has loosened up. I'd like to remove and refasten out of the boat, etc. Anyone ever remove this piece of furniture on C34 MKII?

I have removed mine, but it has been a few years. I remember it had a lot of screws into glass, but the hardest part was locating them. It came out easily once they were identified. Came out in one piece with the mattresses removed.

Some skippers have been creative and used the opportunity to develop better engine access through the material.

I removed a couple of years ago and agree with Tommyt. If you think you have all the screws out and it still won't come out, then you have more screws to find.

I took mine out to clean out the heat exchanger 2 years or so ago. I found that after taking out all the screws (they were all on the inside) some of the pieces were glued together and to the boat.  When I put it back together, I put a door in the starboard side to make changing the heat exchanger zinc easier and put the screws in from the outside.

Removed mine on my 34 a couple of years ago to clean the H/E. I counted 7 screws I had to remove. I went back with 4.

I cleaned the H/E on my 36 this weekend. The "dog house" on it is held down by 2 clamps; piece of cake! Ran it today before I left the marina. The temp never got over 150 F @ 2500 rpm. I couldn't run 2500 before the cleaning. The sea water temp is close to 90 F. Been really hot this year on the Texas coast and no rain.
