Upgrade from Autopilot 4000 to St4000+

Has anyone replaced the control head of the old 4000 with the retro fit ST4000+? If so, any suggestions.
Raymarine indicates that the kit comes with a remote compass as it is not inside the head like the 4000. Where does that get put?

Wondering if this is straight forward.

Hawk, do a search on "fluxgate compass" and you'll find out how others have located it to avoid electrical wiring and big metal things, like toolboxes!

I took it in to the shop that works on Raymarine. Cross my fingers as I had it apart to reattach the power wire that had slipped off...power is back but no function.
