I noticed an oily substance which appeared to come out of the unit; the drive unit. But it seems to function fine. If I replace it, whats the replacement unit and can it be used with the same display? Thanks

My guess would be that the oily substance is from what ever lubs the electric drive motor.  Perhaps the seal is damaged.  I'd check with RM, perhaps you can get a referbished one or yours repaired.  They no longer produce the 4000
