the woman who orders me around has sirius radio for her car and wants me to install it on the boat. for any of you who have run this gauntlet, what did you find to be the easiest to accomplish it.

Joe, Not knowing what music equipment you already have on your boat makes this difficult at best.  When we bought our boat in 1998 from its PO who'd had it for 12 years, there was NO stereo, probably one of the only boats that I've seen like that.

In order to figure out my options, I went to www.crutchfield.com.  Very good array of equipment and explanations for installations (in cars, of course, but just as applicable to boats).

Assuming your current system has input capability, why not just get a Sirius dock n play or portable machine and plug it into your existing system.  That way, when you're not using it on your boat, you can use it at home or in your car (versus your wife's).

To add to Jon's reply. If you want to keep existing am/fm/cd player that more than likely does not include "Sirius" interface (some new system have the ability to add a specialty tuner), then you will have to bring your existing player aboard or buy another player (add it to account).

Most players have a built-in FM transmitter and/or rca audio output (wired from docking station).

Many options (with docking stations)
