Discussions about the aft berth reminded me of our purchasing experience...the admiral and I measured, fussed, went into and out of the 2 aft berth areas on the boats, etc. and finally decided on our C34, over a very nice C36.  At one point we laughed as it seemed as though we were purchasing an aft berth that happened to have a sail boat attached.  Anyway, we went with the C34 and the aft berth was subsequently used once, and has since become the proverbial "garage."  The v-berth on the C34 is just too spacious and comfortable not to be used.  Having said all this, gear stored in the aft berth can be a pain to retrieve.  We are going to get some plastic tubs and shockcords this summer, and see if we can finally bring some order to the space.  Just some thoughts and a little experience.
