I know this is not a C34 problem but I cannot get my new Uniden 625 color radio to connect to any of my GPS units. I have a Garmin 48, 128 and 76CS handheld plotter. 2 of these  have a 4 plug connector which I have the cable for. I turn them on and connect the wires as in the diagram but get nothing. Radio says No GPS data. The4 radio has a pre wired cablefor attachment. It has color coded wires for hook up.
Here is what I do. On the radio it has a diagram of the wires to connect. It has the white and Yellow wires as Data in. On the plug in connecting to the GPS it says brown wire data out. I Tried putting the brown on the yellow and then on the white. Nothing.
I checked the output data to be sure it is NEMA 0180 as requested by the radio. Both units are on. There is no instruction as to any required set up with the radio.
I tried all the options on the GPS, NEMA to NEMA , GRMN TO NEMA, GARMN TO GARMN, NONE TO NEMA , NEMA TO NONE, NONE TO NONE. still nothing getting through.
Only thing I can think opf is the plug I bought is not working. (the 4 holes that plugs into the garmin)
I emailed Uniden but have had no help from them. (they state speedy service and support) ???

Checking the online PDF manuals it looks like this should do it:

The NMEA signal from your Garmin 76CS, brown wired (NMEA OUT +), should be connected to the white wire on your UM625 radio (NMEA IN +).  You also you need a signal ground which is the black wired (ground) on the 76CS connected to the yellow wire on the UM626 (NMEA IN -).

This should do the trick.  If you still have problems some Garmin units have a configuration setting for which protocol they are going to send out of the serial port, Garmin,  or NMEA.  (default speed 4800 BAUD)

I'm not sure if your Garmin models will support DSC information from your radio but once you get the receive working on your radio you might as well hook up the send from the radio to the Garmin.  That's the green wire on your radio (NMEA OUT +) connected to the white wire (NMEA IN +) on the garmin unit.  You may also have to connect the radio's orange wire (NMEA OUT -) to the  black wired on the Garmin.

If I remember correction the Uniden 625 will let you display GPS info (SOG, position, COG) on the radio
which I think is a pretty nice feature.

I tried as suggested but no luck. You said two wires attach to the in (white) to the radio. the input and the ground.(black and brown) Is this right?

Typo... try this:

Garmin (brown wire)   ->  (white wire)  Radio
Garmin (black wire)     ->  (yellow wire) Radio

here is what works after hours of fiddeling and finally calling Uniden.
Data out (brown on garmin)from GPS  to data in (white on Radio)
GPS (garmin) data in  (white) to Green on Radio (Uniuden 625)
GPS (Garmin) ground wire (black) to BOTH orange and Yellow wires from Radio)

the 4 wire connector on the GPS has red. (power), wihite (data in), Brown (data out) black (ground)
the radio has a bunch but only use white, green, orange and yellow

This worked on a Garmin 76 CS and a Garmin 48. (both handhelds)
I went to Radio Shack and got a splitter for the external antenna and cables so can attach the 48 below deck and use it for the DSC and radio transfer of data and did not have to disconnect anything from the old SIGNET system that is still kicking along) Use the 76 CS at the helm for the map.
Works for me. finally

After finally getting out on the water I fired up the GPS and the radio. UP came the lat/lon and the compass setting on the radio pages.. Then I programed in a destination, set a course and pushed "GO TO" on the GPS. The data came up great on the gps but did NOT appear on the set up for the radio screen. I checked the highway page on the radio and it was not reading the GPS. So now what? as roseanna roseanna danna said. "its always something"  Anopther call to UNIDEN.........Terry
