Reef "points" on roller furling main?

Does anyone have suggestions on designating points on a roller furling main that might be equivalent to the 1st & 2nd reef points in a conventional sail? I'm considering gluing on some 2" circles of colored fabric along the foot as visual guides.

I know the roll-up sail is infinitely adjustable, and this may be overkill, but saw this on a Beneteau & thought it was helpful. The owner bought his boat used & did not know how the measurements were calculated.

In boom or in mast?  Rather than mark up your sail, why don't you mark your outhaul (in mast) or halyard (boom) to show how much to roll it up.  I'm just guessing, I think each reef reduces the sail area about 10-15%.

It's an "in-mast" furled main. Your suggestion is certainly worth considering. I was thinking of putting the reference markers on both sides of the sail as it would be more visible from the cockpit while I was reefing or hauling it back out.
