Just an FYI:

I have a friend who has been deaf since his childhood in South Africa. He leaves Palacios, Texas, next Sunday, 2/29, to sail solo around the world. His boat is a Tartan 37, 1977 model. He has been working on this boat for 6 mos. getting it ready. His wife and two children have setup a website.

Wish him luck.

The start of Charl's voyage has been postponed until this coming weekend. He has been waiting on his insurance.

Charl left this morning Saturday, 3/6 at 7am. There was a good crowd of friends and family. He was in good spirts and the weather was fantastic. The wind was NNE,light, and on his stern, and was forcasted to build to 15 knts during the day.

Charl has been in Panama since last week. He is repairing his boat after the Gulf crossing. That was his shake down cruise. He is waiting for his passage through the Canal. Check out his website in my initial post. He would be glad to receive email from anyone.
