Has anyone ever easily converted CNG to propane? was it worth the effort? It is getting more difficult to get refills....

Richie

Ron;

Where is the Tech Note CD found?

Richard,

If you're a member of the C34 Association you should have received one in the mail.  Or, also for members only, you can access the Tech Notes online on this web site.

CNG and Propane

Richie

Nothing to scare the heck out of anyone.

We've had CNG on board since the boat was built in 1986, and when we bought he rin 1998.  We have two in fact, one cylinder is a backup.  We have a supply literally down the block from our marina.  If they stop supplying, then I'll switch, or when I sail to Mexico, whichever comes first.

Do not worry.

Your only problem is getting supplied.  If you can't find any, and the resources on this website explain why not, then you'll have to switch.

Neither is a hazard.

A website search shows this one as one of many

Another is Tech Notes, Nov. 1999:

http://c34.org/tech-notes-index/tech-notes-index-1999.htm

That gets you to:  http://c34.org/mainsheet/pdf/11-99_Technotes.pdf

(don't know if this will work if you're not a member yet)

PS  Richie, I know you're busy in this time of obtaining a boat, and please let me know if there are any more specific questions you have and I'll try to help to find you the resources.  Of course, once you're a member, you get my normal "use the search and find speech" :)
