MK II anchor locker capacity

Hey Folks,

I'm replacing my ground tackle with 100 feet of 5/16 HT G 43 and 200 feet of 3 strand.  Wondering if anybody with an MK II has a similar set up and if it all fits in the anchor locker with enough space for the windlass to drop the chain in. Maxwell suggests 8 inches from the bottom of the windlass chain pipe to the top of the chain cone.

I got rid of my "combo" rope/chain rode on my 1990 MKI and went to all 5/16 chain when I got my Maxwell VW10-8 windlass. Partly due to the fact it did not have enough drop distance—plus all chain was/is easier to operate via a windlass. I use a Manson Supreme 35 anchor. My combo rode WAS 300 feet of 5/16 8-plait and 50 ft of 5/16 chain. Now I have 220ft of 5/16 HT G43 chain.
So it is not an exact comparison to your situation. I have a stern anchor (22lb Danforth) stored in my cockpit locker with 50 ft of 5/16 chain and 200 ft. of 8-plait. I can always connect the two together for super deep water.

Wouldn't think space would be a problem. Shamrock carries 50 feet of chain and 200 of 3 strand.  Lots of room left, would be more concerned about the weight.  For that reason, I only use the forward water tank on extended cruises when getting potable water may be an issue.  Then I draw from the forward tank first.
