Finally got around to pulling JoyRide boat for a long overdue bottom and topside buffing. There are a few topside gelcoat repairs I inherited as well. I ordered the Spectrum Color kit for the year of my boat (1991) from CD. It arrived yesterday and claims to be white. However, after wet sanding the white oxidation and buffing the topsides, to my surprise I was left with a beautiful off-white almost beige shine. I wonder if Catalina stepped away from the normal white to better compliment the maroon boot and cove stripes.
Now I'm questioning the use of the current gelcoat kit for the repairs (although anything would look better than a dark ugly gouge).
So here is my question to y'all 1991 owners. What is the true color of your buffed out topsides? Is it really white? A true white, or something more like JoyRide's shine?

Kirk : As far as I know Catalina kept the same Spectrum color "white" thru 1993.

Thanks y'all. I'm gonna use what they sent and keep my fingers crossed. Like I said, anything would be better than an ugly gouge. I'll post the process and results later.

Cheers
